Rated 1 out of 5 by kaalex04 from Not as shown!!!! the shoes above are not as shown. the description as being “vintage leather” is incorrect. the image above is of the classic black virginia 1461 in a soft leather with a more pointed toe, (a style that dr.marten no longer design or sell) the ones that they actually sell are round and a harder leather with a much higher in-step so they are very uncomfortable in-comparison to the ones they are showing above. ive had to exchange sizes twice and finally request a refund. personally i’ve never had any issues with docs as i’ve been wearing them for years but these aren’t the same as they were. the quality isn’t quite the same as it was and especially for the price it’s unacceptable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Labgeek80 from Crazy sizing but crazy comfy when you get it right! So comfy, very little break in required. New fave! Heartily recommend them to anyone who wants docs but can’t face the traditional slog to get them broken in. I will say the sizings are a little bonkers but I do have a high instep though. My two older docs were a six and fitted fine. I tried a six in these and it was way too tight. A second pair of sixes was better but didn’t want to chance it. Tried a 6.5 in a different colour and they were enormous but got 6.5 in black online and they were perfect.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Emmamid from Are returns quality checked? Think these were pre-worn shoes. No stickers or tags. Scrunched up tissue paper only one shoe had the inner stuffing and one shoe the tongue was so creased and soft with frayed edges. Now I have to pay to return them as I don’t have a local office. When I choose to potentially spend £130 on a pair of shoes I expected better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Gladysp2 from Lovely soft docs I bought my first pair of docs 30 years ago and I still love them now. The Virginia’s are a soft leather so they haven’t rubbed my toes at all. 2 weeks in and I’m still wearing plasters on my heels but they’re not too bad. I find the 6.5 size perfect as that’s my usual size and a 6 is a tiny bit too small. I wear them for work and they’re really comfy with a bouncy sole that is a pleasure to wear. Get loads of compliments too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kyrliop from Comfortable I bought those to start university as I needed comfortable and high quality shoes (to last) to walk to the university in rainy days. I wasn't disappointed, as they don't get wet and they doesn't hurt my feet like my previous shoes. They also keep your feet warm. I am normaly a size 6.5 and bought a size 6 and were slightly big, but with insoles it's just a perfect f(ee)t!

Rated 5 out of 5 by KT16 from Love them! DM's usually require some breaking it, but these were soft from the start because the leather is a softer kind to normal. They go perfect with everything! They do come up big. I'm usually a 4.5 in most shoes and I got a 4 and I can wear tights and socks over the top and they still fit fine.

I have other Dr Martens all in a size 3 so cannot understand why these are so small. They are a lovely shoe but unfortunately they will have to be returned.
